We read in Hebrews chapter 4 that we need to observe and follow the Sabbath-rest, and that the word of God is living and active, and is sharper than a double-edged sword . The Sabbath-rest remains for the people of God (Hebrews 4:9), and those who enter God’s rest also rest from their own work (Hebrews 4:10). So let us make every effort to enter that rest, so that no-one will fall by disobedience (Hebrews 4:11). For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and Spirit and it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). Nothing in creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account (Hebrews 4:13). Thought for today: God is the living word, while the Holy Bible is His written word. Thought for the future: whoever finds me finds life (Proverbs 8:35). Where will you spend your eternity?
