This song is inspired by the poem “Meeresstrand” by Theodor Storm (1817–1888), first published in 1856 and now in the public domain. Drawing on Storm’s imagery, the song blends classical poetry with my own longing for the sea. Between wind, vastness, and the quiet sound of the waves, it tells of arrival, of remaining and of the place where my soul grows still. Seashore – Theodor Storm (English Translation) The grey shore, the grey sea, And off to the side lies the town; The mist presses heavy on the roofs, And through the stillness movesThe call of the sea-wind, never at rest, Blowing from far in the west. No sail cuts across its path, No fisherman ventures out; The storm is there, the gulls cry out, And roaring, the sea strikes the house. Upon the shore a man stands lost. Within the open space; He hears the sea, yet sees it not, As though sunk deep in dream. ༺⚓🌬️🌊⟡🎵⟡⚓⟡🎵⟡🌊🌬️⚓༻ Lyrics © Lia Deern Music & visual production (AI-generated) © 2026 by Lia Deern #meer #song #sehnsucht #sea #seashore #longing
