Doctors at Goa Medical College (GMC) held a strong protest on Monday morning, demanding an apology from Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane over the alleged harassment of Dr Rudresh Kuttikar, the Casualty Medical Officer (CMO) who was threatened with suspension. The demonstration took place outside the Dean’s office and saw participation from a wide cross-section of the medical fraternity—including department heads, consultants, IMA council members, students, and interns. Protesters raised slogans of “We want justice,” voicing anger over what they described as unjust treatment of a colleague carrying out his duties. The protesting doctors put forward several key demands: A public apology from the Health Minister to Dr Kuttikar and the wider medical community. A written assurance from the government that healthcare professionals will not face harassment or intimidation in the line of duty. A ban on video recording, especially by the media, within sensitive medical zones like emergency and casualty wards. An end to VIP interference, calling for treatment to be strictly based on triage and clinical urgency, not political or social influence. Meanwhile, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Rudresh Kuttikar said that he was humiliated. He said that the minister should come and apologize to him and publicly in the Casualty ward where the incident occurred. "If a public apology is not issued within 24 hours, we will discuss the matter with everyone and we may consider shutting down services," said CMO Dr. Rudresh Kuttikar PRUDENT MEDIA GOA | Most Popular Goa News Channel Check out latest news on Goa, Politics, Business, Cricket, Technology, Automobile, Lifestyle & Health and Travel. #Goa_news_channel #konkani_news #Konkani_Goa_News_Live_Today Subscribe on youtube ► https://goo.gl/taiJmn More on https://www.prudentmedia.in Download Goa’s No. 1 News Channel Mobile App: https://play.google.com/store/apps/de...
