Challenge yourself and use whatever tools you have to make it work. Understand your limitations but do not let them hinder your goals. There is always another way, find it and be patient with yourself. In her talk, Nouar Qutob shares her life stories as a career woman and a mother of three children, pinpointing the challenges she has encountered during her career life. She describes how in each time, her passion for her work and the support structure around her have instigated solutions to keep her on track. Nouar has a long-standing interest in the molecular genetics of diseases and has a number of publications in the field. She completed a Post Doctorate Fellowship at the Weizmann institute of Sciences and holds a Ph.D. and an MPhil in Biological Sciences from the University of Cambridge in England. She obtained a B.Sc. in Bioinformatics and a minor in Health Sciences from Brigham Young University in the United States. She has recently joined the Arab American University as an Assistant Professor and is now Assistant Dean for Scientific Research and Head of the Health Science Department at the Faculty of Graduate School. After emergence of COVID-19 in Palestine, University laboratories have been utilized for clinically COVID-19 testing and Dr. Nouar has been working alongside her colleagues to study the genomic epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2 in Palestine and other related COVID-19 studies. Dr. Nouar Qutob has joined the Arab American University as an Assistant Professor and is now Assistant Dean for Scientific Research and Head of the Health Science Department at the Faculty of Graduate School. She has a long-standing interest in the molecular genetics of cancer and diseases and has a number of publications in the field.
