An Egyptian-American father described how his two sons, 15-year-old Ali and 22-year-old Yassin, were beaten up by officials at the Egyptian UN mission in New York for protesting the Egyptian government’s complicity in the blockade on Gaza. Footage shows officials dragging the two inside the building and appearing to violently assault them while they were lying on the floor. The pair were later arrested by New York police with Yassin still held in prison. The incident came just days after leaked videos showed Egypt’s foreign minister instructing officials to drag peaceful protesters against the Gaza war inside the building and call the police.
