Running Penrith parkrun, Cumbria. Poppy's PB Attempt and Puppy Cuddles at Frenchfield Sports Centre!

We were in the Lake District for a family weekend and needed a parkrun to visit on our way home. Penrith parkrun ticked all of the boxes so we headed there after a van camp. I loved arriving early and getting ready there. I think it's a first for me to be eating breakfast next to a parkrun sign! The run itself was far more enjoyable than you might think from the course description which looks like two laps of the sports fields. Make no mistake though, the real gem here is the team itself and the wonderful community they have built. We even managed to get some puppy cuddles at this dog free parkrun which was an absolute bonus! Huge thanks to the team for all of the smiles and the warm welcome, and the post run hot chocolate!
