N V Vijayakumar / Bengaluru / New Delhi, NFAPost: Nothing Technology Limited, a British consumer electronics company headquartered in London and known as NOTHING, has become the cynosure of all eyes with its mobile and audio products. Founded in 2020 by OnePlus Cofounder Carl Pei, Nothing is known for its software-led hardware, positioning itself as a design-focused challenger brand. The new offline store on 80 Feet Road, Indiranagar, Bengaluru, India, is a masterstroke moment in the company's efforts to expand its customer engagement initiative. The customised version of Android, the company has been running on Nothing OS and its various products are distributed in markets including Europe, India, and North America. The company has raised venture funding from GV (formerly Google Ventures), EQT Ventures, and Tiger Global, along with high-profile individual investors including Tony Fadell and Casey Neistat. Its products are noted for their transparent hardware designs and the Glyph Interface, a system of LED lighting on the rear of its smartphones. The company was officially announced in January 2021,and soon acquired the brand assets of Essential Products. It also partnered with Teenage Engineering, the Stockholm-based electronics company known for its product design. The company launched its first product, the transparent ear wireless earbuds, in July 2021. It later secured $50 million in funding and announced a partnership with Qualcomm. In 2022, Nothing raised $70 million in Series B funding and introduced its first smartphone, the Phone (1), featuring a distinctive LED-based Glyph Interface. The company also opened a physical retail store in London’s Soho district in December 2021. Now, in February 2026 Nothing is launching its first outlet in India, that too in the Silicon Valley of Asia, there is a special reason. Nothing started its India journey by launching Phone 1 at Rs 32,999 (~$399) for the base model. Nothing Phone 2 is priced around Rs 42,000 to Rs 43,000 in India. That’s around $520 if converted directly. Nothing Phone 2 features a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz adaptive display, Nothing OS 2.0 with three years of Android updates and four years of security patches, 33W wired and 15W wireless charging, an IP rating, and an optical fingerprint sensor. Nothing Phone 3a was launched by the UK-based smartphone maker in India in March 2025, along with the Phone 3a Pro. Powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, which is built on a 4nm process, the two smartphones sport 6.7-inch AMOLED displays. Nothing announced that it will not launch new flagship phones this in 2026, shifting its focus to mid-range models, which are expected to be unveiled as the Nothing Phone 4a and Phone 4a Pro, reports Gadgets360 quoting media reports. In the post by Carl Pei, he notes that 2026 is the year the ‘specs race’ ends. "As the industry resets, experience becomes the only real differentiator. That is exactly what Nothing was built for.” Since Nothing has always taken a different approach to design and specifications from the outset, the brand can innovate, even as rising memory costs pose an obstacle," said Carl Pei.
