In this spy-centric episode (with a surprising number of canines in it) I review Ian Fleming’s first James Bond novel and the non-fiction book Spymistress about a real-life kick-butt woman who was a spy during WWII and beyond. They are paired with a delicious cigar from Guardian of the Farm, which is rather sweetly named after the actual dogs that protect their tobacco fields. Along the way I discover the joys of a 20-dollar dragon-shaped lighter, discuss Bond’s unexpected sinus issues, realize that being a for-reals spy would be horrible, and run through all the autumn light available to an amateur video maker.
