Management of a case of bilateral Upside Down Phakic IOL (IPCL)
Upside down implantation of phakic IOL is a very rare complication. We present a case of bilateral upside down IPCL implantation which was referred to us for management, 2 days after the primary implantation. The inverse preoperative position of IPCL were confirmed by anterior segment OCT. The correct positioning of IPCL & good vaulting post operatively were also recorded on anterior segment OCT on serial follow-up visits. We also elaborate the possible causes of the inverse IPCL implantation & share preoperative and intra operative technical tips to prevent this avoidable complication.
