Join Fiona and Albert every Wednesday at 11 am for some exciting science and engineering experiments. Each week Fiona will demonstrate a fun experiment that you can try at home using materials that you can find in your home. Albert will be there to supervise and to suggest ways of modifying the experiment to discover more. WEEK 1: ERUPTING LEMONS Discover how to make an awesome model of a volcano using a lemon, some bicarbonate of soda, food colouring and some washing up liquid! Learn about the chemistry behind your model volcano so you can surprise and amaze family and friends. Equipment These are things that the children will need for erupting lemons: 1 whole lemon 3 teaspoons of Bicarbonate of soda (find it in the baking aisle in the supermarket) several drops of food colouring (find it in the baking aisle in the supermarket) Washing up liquid Cocktail stick or kebab skewer
