Living life as a creation of Art

For me the vision has always been to live life like I would create a piece of art, listening to the silence and bringing through what wants to be expressed. It’s a highly present state that actors reach on stage, because on stage you’re constantly reading the energy of the instant and responding to it, it’s a state where magic is palpable. For me the delicious challenge in life is to be in this state in every waking moment. Living life as a creation of art, living in a state of curiosity: what’s here? Whats present? What’s real? What is it that my body wants to do right now? I have decided to devote my life to practicing this, living in a state of curiosity, a prayer in motion, dancing with the divine, everywhere, all the time. But, you know what…to go from living a life based on fear, where every action I take, and word I speak, comes from a conditioning, a fear, to living a life where every moment is taken with curiosity, means undoing so many layers of conditioning from the body. It means rewiring the neurological pathways in the body, that are deeply embedded. And that’s not something you can just decide one moment and it’s embodied the next. We don’t have control over how long it takes. It’s a spiraling process. It’s what healing is all about. It’s an ongoing conversation with our fears, with our wounded and protective parts. It’s falling in love with them by understanding why they’re here, it’s understanding why a world is possible without them. It’s a slow passing over of leadership, responsibilities, from them to our true Selves: the ones that know deeply, at the core, how infinitely loved, and valuable, and safe, and powerful we are. And it’s in that slow passing over, in that slow burning of love for those parts, that the space for curiosity is born.
