Do you have a Crystal Quest Inline Shower Head Filter? You should know that these filter cartridges are good for up to one year. But if you want to get the maximum benefits out of it, it's recommended that at about 6 months you remove the cartridge and flip it around. This will "back flush" the filtration media, giving you more longevity from the filter. And, yes, Crystal Quest recommends you do this. It says it right in their Care & Use instructions in the box. Trust me, once you see the video, you'll see why it's so important to do this. (The filter is NASTY on one side.) What's nice about the Crystal Quest showerhead filter is that you can pretty easily remove the cartridge without uninstalling the housing from the shower arm OR uninstalling the shower head from. Watch and I'll show you. ;) In this video, I'm going to show you how to remove the cartridge, clean it out (boy did it need a good cleaning), turn it around and reinstall it. This means the filter is working! The Crystal Quest shower filter, IMO, is the best shower head filter available. It is able to remove chlorine, chloramines, VOC's, THM's, pesticides, sulfur, heavy metals, hydrogen sulfide ("rotten egg" odor), iron oxides ("rust water"), dirt, sediment and other odors, all while being pH balanced!
