Hollywood Actor Gives Me His Hat!

THE BACKSTORY about my meeting with Hollywood actor Burton Gilliam. When we got to our seats on the plane heading to Dallas, Lucia said there was a fellow “up there” wearing a Blazing Saddles cap. I waited until everyone was in their seats, and then walked up to tell him I liked his hat. However, he was sleeping. So, I gently nudged him, and he woke up, and I told him I liked his hat. He said, “You know who gave it to me?” I said, “No.” He said, “Mel Brooks.” Then he said he was in the movie. I stared at him to figure out who he was, and then I saw it: He’s Burton, Slim Picken’s sidekick. We chatted until the stewardess told me to take a seat because they needed to fly a plane. He deplaned first, and I went as fast as I could, hoping to see him. He was standing in the terminal talking to his wife. I hollered at him, and we chatted some more. He was in Greenville for the Pro/Am golf tournament, which he likes to golf. He lives outside Dallas. I took his picture with me. Later, he said, “I bet she wants her picture, too.” So Lucia got hers with him. Then I went to the restroom, and sure enough, there he was. As we were standing there, I gave him my testimony. He said we might not meet again, but he will see me in heaven. I then asked for his hat. He said, “I’ll get you a hat. I’m sure if I ask Mel, he will get you one.” Check out my new hat!!
