English - Here you are viewing a piece of Australian Railway History. The last ever train to run through the Gardiner Rail Square before the station moves underground and the current crossing is removed. For nearly a century the Gardiner Signal Box has controlled tram and train movements through this crossing. At 115am on January 2nd 2016 the box performed it's final train movement and was then decomissioned with only a few route 72 trams to run through the crossing.
