I Tried to Run a Marathon and Convert a Van in 24 Hours

Campervans. I’ve always wanted one, because I see them as a great way to sleep where you want, when you want. Back in 2023, I bought myself a little Transit Connect with the hope of converting it into a micro camper that would take me across Europe — and around the world. However, I faced the same problem most people do when converting an old builder’s van into a camper: time. I didn’t have any time at all to do the work that would allow me to have all those epic adventures. That’s where‪@BeauMiles‬comes in… Beau is an odd jobber, ultra-runner, and general doer of stuff. In 2018, Beau released a film in which he ran around his block 26 times in 24 hours, with each lap equating to a mile. Meaning that, by the end of the 24 hours, he’d run a marathon. But in between the laps, he also did odd jobs. Which got my cogs turning. A van conversion is just lots of little jobs, added together to create one big project. With little thought and forever the optimist I decided to give it a go. Converting my van and running a marathon over 24 hours. What’s the worst that could happen…
