The Chilli Hunter's "Widow's tipple" sauce review

Today we are tasting Chilli Hunter's Widow's Tipple. This sauce was the winner of the amatuer sauce competition at the Fiery Foods Festival 2013. Ingredients: Malt vinegar, bell peppers, sugar, Criolla Sella, Aji Lemon, mango, tequila, mustard, salt, lime, mint. On the nose, the most apparent smell is that of the fruit in the sauce. Mainly the Mango mixed with other ingredients gives it a slight ginger note. Consistency wise, the sauce is quite easily pourable with a thin puree look to it containing a feed chilli seeds and flecks of peppers. The taste of the sauce is as complex as the ingredients suggest. Firstly you are greeted with a lovely spiced fruit taste. I struggled to pull all the individual flavours out of the sauce. But one thing I can tell you, is the combination works a treat. The heat level is medium, whilst delivering a spicy all over mouth burn.
