Lethal Company is what you get when you perfect the Phasmophobia "genre". Which I guess consists of going into a spooky house with tasks to do and a rising threat level. There's been a few games, even some VR ones, in a similar vein, but Lethal Company perfects it. The unique aesthetic, the actual variety in enemy encounters and solutions, the sound design, everything. Honestly it's insane that they made staying in the ship typing out door codes and watching a radar screen to be just as tense and dangerous as actually diving into the facility.
