To the start of the Burma Road | Gravel Bike Ride from Aviemore, Scotland The popular Burma Road loop near Aviemore begins with a challenging climb, followed by a descent into the peaceful valley of the River Dulnain. You then follow the river, go over the historic Sluggan bridge and on to Carrbridge. From there you've got the choice of either cycling back via Boat of Garten or High Burnside. To get to the start of the Burma Road most route descriptions have you crossing the A9 at the Lynwilg junction. This is often a busy road, especially during the tourist season. It’s also a staggered junction, making it even trickier to cross safely. But you don't have to cross the A9 to get to the start of the Burma Road.
