Racing the 85 with the Big Bikes - Crash and burn! - 2022 Rovers MC & Invaders MC Alien Dawg Run

Big weekend for Dash. His bike has not been able to rev out for months and we finally figured out that it was the stator. He jumped on the bike Saturday morning for a warm up before the race and came back saying it was like riding a new bike. Unfortunately about a minute before the start the bike just died. There was nothing we could do to get it started. Thanks to some fast thinking by our friends, we put his numberplate on his sister's CRF80, and he started his race about 10 minutes after the Novice line had started. It turns out that only 3 riders in his class showed up, and he ended up on the podium, 3rd out of 3😂. It was like racing a Honda Civic against F1 cars, but he ended up mid pack overall even starting way after everyone else. It was a great salvage job. Dash really wanted to race his 85 so we got his bike running again, and he entered the adult race. He was doing great until the big crash. I think he might have been pushing a little more than he usually does in the you race. Luckily he only ended up with a bad sprained wrist. Now he's more focused on finishing an adult race on the 85 than he is racing the youth class. Maybe we'll let him try again, but not quite yet.
