How to find hot sulphur pools at the lowest place on the planet | Ein Kedem Hot Springs Dead Sea “Ein Kedem” springs are located on the west bank shores of the Dead Sea, positioned to the north of the Ein Gedi nature reserve and Ein Gedi hotel, and has hot water springs rich in mud and sulphur minerals that erupt naturally from within the earth. These springs have different temperatures varying from 30 to 55 degrees Celsius. The size of the springs may differ, from a size of 2 small people to a large size. How to get there: Drive north 8 km. on Road #90 from “Ein Gedi” till you reach “Ein Kedem” sign post, then continue 500 meters with the car until the parking space and then continue with a 10 minutes walk. Choosing the left path will lead you to 2 natural pools, located just a few meters from the Dead Sea banks. There are no shower facilities or drinking water, therefore it is recommended to bring your own water supply when arriving. Since the Dead Sea area has severe heat conditions, most days of the year, those hot springs are not in great demand. However, in the spring and winter, they are a top attraction by enjoying hot water rich in minerals at a temperature of up to 45 degrees Celsius inside, and then jumping to the Dead Sea waters just few meters away for quick refreshment to cool off.
