This episode I finally get to visit the ‘Swamp Safari Village’ located in Falmouth, Trelawny. And I must say, this place had really surprised me, even the number of years these places operate is pretty incredible. So the Safari was initially established in 1969 as a crocodile farm by an American, Ross Heilman aka Ross Kananga. The Swamp Safari Village is home to number to the largest captive American crocodiles in the Caribbean. Our tour guide, expert Donald ‘Buddy’ Roach was amazing providing with information about anything I asked and also giving the privilege to name a crocodile! So of course I had to name her ‘ Stush’ the meaning in patowa is – Snobbish or Stuck up This Safari is also very special because of the famous James Bond Movie film ‘Live and Let Die’ which take place in the Safari. Ross Kananga’s was the stunt person that had jumped over the crocodiles. So make sure you go to visit the Jamaica Swamp Safari and ask for a tour with Buddy..
