First LOOK at our NEW FACILITY! Yes, FINALLY. We have been working on cleaning and moving and setting up our off-exhibit animals/ snake species rooms, and getting all our necessary stuff out of the way before announcing - and we are finally BONAFIDE! We still have A LOT of work to do, (we also will be a sanctuary but have not gotten that non-profit status back YET - the paperwork takes a while, but we have passed muster with everyone involved! AND we wanted to share a first look at the Serpent Center, (NEW) Home of Venom Central with our #VenomSquad. PLUS we'll feed Diesel - our King Cobra. Get a FIRST LOOK at our new facility - The Serpent Center (and Sanctuary) Home of Venom Central. Feeding King Cobra Diesel is a real treat as he is getting sizeable (almost 8 ft and not quite 2 years old) but soon mice will no longer be an option, ( he already eats jumbo adult mice and needs almost 10 for a meal, so he is going to be offered a rat - and as smart as he is, and he is so completely scent-driven during his feeding, let's see is he eats it...usually it is a real process to "scent" King Cobras into wanting other food items than just snakes, since that is their innate, main food item, but unless you have many many years worth of healthy but frozen snakes, a captive born King Cobra must be offered other food items to grow and be healthy, plus they must also still eat snakes, but there are tricks to it - and that is why King Cobras don't always do well - most find it difficult to know the proper husbandry for them, and don't realize how much it entails keeping such an enormous snake. (Not an easy snake to keep). Plus King Cobra Diesel is lots of fun to watch, such a personality and a real change from the fierce and lightening fast strikes of the vipers and pit vipers when we share our Fangs in Your Face feeding strikes in our videos.
