What makes a film or video cinematic? Is it having the right gear? Or knowing the right color grading techniques? Yes, but I think those explanations are missing something. In this video I introduce a rough theory I’ve been experimenting with called Dream Layers. Dream Layers are all the layers of production needed to transport the audience out of their "boring" everyday reality and into the world of the story. I hope this is a helpful tool, love to hear your thoughts.
