The 27-year-old, who was engaged and the father of a 7-month-old, had more than 2,000 career victories. “Hunter was a rising star in our industry,” the Hollywood Casino at the Meadows and the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association said in a statement Thursday. “The Meadows racing community, and the entire harness racing industry, are deeply saddened by this tragic event.” In memoriam Northfield will hold a memorial for Myers before its first race Sunday. It is scheduled to take place at 5:50 p.m. and proceed in silence as a memorial to Myers. Northfield will also rename its Iron Maiden Series as the Hunter Myers Memorial Series.
