Day two of our Kalasin & Isaan adventure continues as we dive deeper into family life, explore new cities, and uncover a surprising home issue! We start the day with a simple breakfast at TK Resident Hotel in Kalasin City, then head over to Makro to do some shopping for Tikkie’s mom and dad. After a scenic hour-long drive to the family home, we’re greeted with some unexpected news: Tikkie’s aunt had to tear down the second floor of her house due to a serious termite infestation. That led us to inspect Tikkie’s childhood home for signs of termites—and let’s just say we might have a problem. While checking for damage, I also give you a tour of the inside of her mom's house to show a bit of traditional Thai home life. Stay tuned for a deep dive in the next video! With her mom in tow, we head to Udon Thani for Jerry’s first-ever visit. We enjoy a delicious lunch at Laem Charoen in Central Mall before driving 19km outside the city to a clothing market where Tikkie gifts her mom some gorgeous traditional Isaan material and a real silk pocketbook. Back in Udon Thani, we stroll through the farang nightlife area to get a feel for the city vibe, before returning to Kalasin City for dinner at the bustling night market and wrapping the evening with a special ice cream pancake dessert.
