Something happened in Santa Rosa, California during the mid 1990's. It was the concrete, the train tracks, the debris and the adornment of urbanity along with a meal at a Mexican restaurant. The California subculture of the nineties operated in individual cells that were microcosms of their own, and the three humans in this short film appear not as the focal points, but as if they were part of the urban landscape. The film has little intention of documenting this, rather it was more a record of happenstance. Even a physicist could not have studied these three subjects in their natural state, because atoms behave differently when observed. But this film was shot by the innocence of a 21 year old kid, it was left un-edited and pure, and it is therefore the equivalent of atoms observing themselves. This film is set to the soundtrack of Santa Rosa's suicide/scream/blast band, Kid Dynamo, which means it has captured the quintessence of Santa Rosa circa 1995. Shot by Scott Binkley, the film features himself along with two individuals newly arrived in California (Kunce and Eldredge) with nothing better to do than drink coffee, read Kerouac, jump over water fountains and roll around on the street.
