People ask me every year if Nicaragua is a safe place to travel in, and my response every year has been the same: YES Nicaragua has one of the lowest crime rates in Central America, YES the Nicaraguan people are some of the most friendly people on the planet, NO there is not many dangerous things you can do in Nicaragua, besides go surfing when its PUMPING!!! Here at Playa Tesoro Ecolodge, there is cold AC, and fast wifi for those digital nomad types. I tried to find information about surfing this place online and couldn't. Almost no information exists online about this surf spot, until now. How did I find this place? When I'm in the states and sad because I live on the East Coast and it's often flat for weeks at a time I often stare into the depths of the internet, scouring social media, search engines and google satellite imagery looking for the one that that gives me solace in today's modern world: empty beach breaks to surf alone. Yes, that's our thing, my partner and I chase these empty beach breaks because we often get sick of crowded reef breaks and point breaks. There is no stink eye here in Playa Tesoro, only a few locals who love visitors and there might be waves every single day of the year. Sure, it's not Popoyo or San Juan del Sur but what you lack in absolute quality you often make up in extreme quantity. In this travel vlog I arrive at the airport in Managua and travel across Nicaragua with the isolated Playa Tesoro Resort as my ultimate destination. After I arrive at Playa Tesoro I paddle out and catch a few waves! Then I take some pics and video with my digital camera. The central region of Nicaragua really is teaming with empty sand bars just waiting for you to come find them. This is one of the last unexplored frontiers on the Pacific Coast of Central America in general, and Nicaragua specifically. If you are into nature, birds, fishing, and surfing alone you will love it here. Playa Tesoro Nicaragua owns 3k of beach front real estate surrounded by pumping beach break. Did I mention they have boats to take you to the neighboring waves of Miramar and Puerto Sandino? This place really is an untapped paradise for those we seek off the beaten path exploration and want to surf alone or just be alone in nature.
