This full body, full length yin yoga practice, has been designed to follow the flow of the meridian pathways within the body. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, there are a number of meridian pathways in the body, through which our life energy, known as chi, flows. In our yin practice, we access the meridians by either stretching or compressing the general region through which the meridian runs. This is quite different to using acupuncture or acupressure, which would stress a specific point (or points) on a meridian, in yin we are working larger areas or sections of the meridian pathways. In this practice, we will use yin poses to gently stress the tissue along the 12 major meridians, following the circuit which the meridians flow.
