In this Studio Talk episode, I show you how to complete or fill in the SAMRO Composer Split Confirmation Form/Document. In June 2019, SAMRO created a Composer Split Confirmation document to reduce the amount of disputes over royalty splits. We are pleased to inform you that SAMRO has created a composer split confirmation document in order to minimise/reduce the number of disputes that we currently receive. The aim of the document is for composers/authors to specify their contributions and percentage splits in the copyright as soon as the work is complete. This document can accompany your SAMRO notification (optional) as proof of the agreed splits to avoid or assist with later disputes, however, this document should not be viewed as a notification as you will still need to complete a notification form.
