I purchased this 30 year old boat last summer and began some much needed repair to the foredeck where the balsa core material was completely ruined by water that had entered through a hole in the deck used for the anchor chain. The foredeck was soft underfoot and the stiffness it usually provides for the fore mast tube was compromised. I wanted to cut into the foredeck from underneath so the best position for the project was to have the boat upside down and on 42" tall sawhorses. The challenge was getting the boat up onto the horses by myself as this happened during the pandemic of early 2020. I cut the glass with a Dremel multitool vibrating saw blade. I replaced the core with new 3/8" balsa core. I used System 3 epoxy/resin with silica added as a thickener when needed.
