In this Coffee & Chat session, we explored how art and storytelling can open new pathways for participation in displacement contexts. Emmanuel Daniel Taabu, Bekele Kebede Yohannes, and Namrata Talukder Arpa from IOM Bangladesh shared their journey of developing the Unbroken storybook with women in Cox’s Bazar camps, while Elena Valentini from the global Women’s Participation Project (WPP) reflected on lessons from the wider initiative. Participants raised questions on community acceptance, collaboration with protection and MHPSS teams, and how best to share stories. The discussion underscored the importance of safe spaces, trust-building, and creative approaches like illustration and community art to ensure women’s voices are heard.
