The siblings of children with severe disabilities are constantly walking an emotional tightrope. On the one hand, they love their special sisters and brother beyond measure and are willing to make extreme sacrifices to see them learn, grow, be included and experience the joys of life. On the other, they are desperate for their parents' attention, a share of the limelight to celebrate their own accomplishments, and a chance to forge their own identities. ADI is a warm and loving extended family and expertly run home away from home for hundreds of children and young adults with severe disabilities that provides their parents and siblings with the resources and peace of mind they need to put aside complicated feelings and focus instead on embracing opportunities for stress-free bonding and relationship development with their loved ones. By reimagining rehabilitation, ADI is advancing ability for all – empowering children, adolescents and adults with severe disabilities and pioneering cutting edge therapeutic and recovery services for anyone touched by disability. ADI provides its residents and special education students with the individualized growth plans and specialized services they need to grow and thrive, its rehabilitation patients with the inpatient and outpatient treatments and therapies they need to heal and return to their lives, and the community at large with tangible opportunities for encountering disability, raising awareness and promoting acceptance. Since October 7, 2023, ADI has provided the individualized care needed to ensure the consistent growth and long-term mental health of Israel’s most vulnerable citizens, while also healing dozens of war-wounded IDF soldiers and civilians from the country’s hardest hit communities at ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran’s Kaylie Rehabilitation Medical Center – the first and only fully dedicated rehabilitation hospital in Israel’s South.
