United States Senator for New York Kirsten Gillibrand delivered the Commencement address at Vassar College on May 26. Her message to graduates was that they could make a difference. "There are those who look at all of you as Generation Y," said Gillibrand. "I look at you and see Generation Y-Not." What she calls her Why Not Agenda includes increasing the minimum wage, providing universal pre-K, and guaranteeing equal pay for equal work, among other things. "Your generation is poised, like none other in history," said Gillibrand, "to challenge every single notion of equality, justice and opportunity for all."
