In 2022, a funeral home owner was arrested following an investigation into the complaints of unfulfilled contracts and missing funds, after authorities found that nearly $10,000.00 came up missing. The owner, who had previously been in trouble in 2018, for similar misconduct, was scheduled for his court arraignment in early 2022. It was during this same time that the state funeral board had further investigated into the matter and reviewed a multitude of client complaints, which ultimately led to the states decision to completely revoke the funeral home license due to the new discoveries charges against the funeral home and its owner. After failing to appear in court for his spring 2022 sentencing where he was finally going to face the music of illegally operating his funeral home, a warrant was put out for his arrest. Just days after the warrant was issued, the police eventually went to the owners residence, as well as the funeral home. After there was no answer at either location, the police were forced to make entry and that’s when they made the shocking discovery. The funeral home owner had decided to take his own life rather than face the consequences of his own selfish actions. After the owner passed away, the funeral home was locked up and seemingly forgotten about, at least until we had the opportunity to explore this haunting old funeral home almost 4 years after the owners downfall and subsequent demise.
