Suillus americanus - Edible Yellow Slime Mushroom

Learn how to identify Suillus americanus. This mushroom is also known as the white pine bolete or chicken fat mushroom. It is not super tasty, but it is edible. Probably better dried then re-hydrated later. This edible mushroom should be peeled prior to consumption since the slimy skin can cause digestive issues. It is commonly found in the northeast US anywhere eastern white pines grow. Be careful when foraging for mushrooms.
