In an updated video from 2025, we can now see the school in daily use and thriving in February 2026! What are we doing to support Malawi's Vision 2026 Plan which aspires to ensure that every citizen completes 12 years of education? Our local partner, MCSPA, is constructing a new secondary school in Nkhotakota District to provide quality education in rural Malawi. The school, St. Joseph’s Integrated Secondary School, has been designed by IDG Architects, a Houston-based firm. So far, two classroom blocks—housing a total of eight classrooms—have been built, along with two blocks containing two laboratories each. We are on track to open the school in September 2025, starting with an initial intake of 60 students, and adding another 60 students annually until we reach a full capacity of 240 students. The school will feature four specialized laboratories: computer, physics, biology, and chemistry. In addition, two dormitories have been constructed to house 120 students (60 boys and 60 girls).
