Muscular slings is a name given to groups of muscles that interact in some way to produce (or inhibit) movement. Should you train them? Yes. However, if your pelvis and ribcage are not resting in a position that allows for proper muscles activation, the sling you may think you're training may not really be trained, or only half-trained.
