2025 Winnipeg Folk Festival - Sunday Highlights (July 13)

The final day of the 50th ‪@WinnipegFolkFestival‬ ended Sunday with powerhouse pop band ‪@LakeStreetDive‬, appearing for the first time since 2013 when they weren't nearly as well known as today. The legendary ‪@mavisstaples‬ made her first trip to the festival a few days after her 86th birthday, with no signs of stopping as she brought the house down with familiar tunes and hilarious banter. Local pop hero ‪@Hellobegonia‬ played the festival main stage for the first time, showing she belonged among the killer closing night line-up. She also paid tribute to friends Brendan Berg and Olivia Michalczuk – mainstays in the Winnipeg arts community and close friends of many at the festival – who were tragically killed in a car accident 2 weeks ago. The other 4 members of Brendan's band ‪@royalcanoe‬ joined her for a rendition of their collab "Fussin'" that meant a lot to so many in attendance.
