This trip was provided by the pure generosity of ‪@tidelinetoalpine‬ Day 17 One last sunrise soak at Willow Creek we both hope for color Bodies warm floating while air above is getting pretty cold Orange and red and pink dark clouds as we look at each other Getting out is a task that sure is making me feel so old Biting wind pierces I briefly consider getting back in Out now so I continue to the van showing that I'm bold Onto Fields for a world famous milk shake and sam wrapped in tin Shake was good but definitely not the best I've ever had Fueled by sandwich we cross the border a place we've never been Day 18 Wake from our only night together outside of Oregon Nevada has always been so kind to me and is today We decide to soak and hopefully catch the sunrise again The spring not quite as cold as the air but not warm I would say But when the sun comes up it really truly could be so great I climb out and slowly get back in keeping the cold at bay Then off we go back to Oregon up though the snowy slate I trust that she can drive through just about anything at all Leaving exactly where we will camp tonight up to the fates Day 19 This morning is not so good as migraine looms so very loud But quiet still and patient is the only weapon I own It seemed to have worked tho that is not what has me feeling proud Communication has been my focus not easy to hone And proud when she tells me that she really does want to hug me I'm Careful not to squeeze too hard as I sometimes have been prone With lighter heads and hearts we search through snow on our way to sea We found the same trail where we met so very long ago As best friends we hiked for a bit through snow on the PCT Day 20 On the side of the highway with minimal traffic we wake Next to the wild rushing Umpqua river grey clouds overhead I believe that the rain and clouds will eventually break Head west through coastal range after peeling ourselves out of bed Like a vale lifting... as soon as we reach the beach the sun shines The warmth of the sun and cool of the breeze has me feeling fed Walk on the beach with no food but plenty of supplies so fine The sunset spectacular with storm clouds in the far distance The colors reflecting off the wet sand is super sublime
