The last update has brought an economy and loot rebalance that will probably change the approach to the game. Since I am a bit of a hoarder these are very bad news in a sense, but I believe this help consolidate the scavenger settings. No more mountains of loot to choose from. Now you find less, and most of the time it's not the thing you were searching. Before the update I had noticed the pattern in the four tunnels: beside ammo, medicines etc., every tunnel guaranteed 2 loot in every containers, cumulative. This pattern is no more. And many containers disappeared (I don't know if permanently or via RNG yet). In this video I go through the tunnels A, B, C, D and take note of the differences I saw. There is REALLY less containers, and even less items. Loot will become a more important issue than money, now that the upgrades are cheaper. Another important change: I didn't see water in tunnels. Where I used to see 2 explosive, now there is one only. The water absence could seem like a critical issue, but I want to remember that before the tunnels the only way to get water was going on the surface maps, or doing quest. And that's the situation now. I'll have to check if there still is water on the surface though. There is more focus on encumbrance - every item shows weight and volume, so this is another factor to consider when picking up loot - even if its more scarce. You could have no more space in your rig despite your high carrying capacity. Not only loot changed. Enemies are back in the tunnels. Especially patrols are back. And in a second run I made I noticed that even the old respawn mechanic is back. I killed a patrol, went to another room, and then went back to find a new patrol in the first room. It was annoying before, but I would say that now it could be even more annoying with the drastic loot decrease (that includes ammo obviously). This update requires a new balance for the player, to understand how to adapt the scav loadout and the tactics. I presume this won't be the last rebalance we'll see. And I hope the enemy respawning get tuned down. And on a side note I would like to see how many grenades I have in the HUD slot, health items already do this. #foreverwinter
