In Aswan the Nile is at its most beautiful, flowing through amber desert and granite rocks, round emerald islands covered in palm groves and tropical plants. The most obvious is Elephantine Island, which is timeless with artifacts dating from pre-Dynastic times onward. Philae Temple, often referred to as the Temple of Goddess Isis, is without question one of the best temples to visit in Egypt, and what makes it even more special is the fact that if you visit at night you can enjoy the spectacular Temple of Philae Sound and Light Show.
