The Gayatri Mantra refers to the energy of the Sun, Suya. She has infinite potential, a formula filled with vibrant vibrations, she has infinite power, which is truly delightful, because the Sun is her dominant Deity. The Gayatri Mantra is stored in the Vedas, the most ancient scriptures of mankind, it is the Mother of Vedas (Veda Mata) and is considered the essence of the teachings of the Vedas (Veda Sarah). The Gayatri mantra has three names - Gayatri, Saavitri and Saraswati. Gayatri is the lord over the senses. Saavitri is the Lord over Prana, Saavitri means Truth. Saraswati is the primal deity of speech. All three symbolize purity in thought, word and deed (Trikaran Shuddhi). The Gayatri Mantra refers to immanent (inherent) and transcendental (transcendent) divinity. The one who repeats the Gayatri mantra regularly and with faith receives from the Gayatri mantra salvation from disease, protection from all disasters, she is the executor of all desires and the giver of everything that benefits the one who repeats it with faith. Brahmaprakasa (Brahman shine) will descend and illuminate the spiritual path of the one who will chant the Gayatri Mantra. Gayatri is “that preserves, protects, and saves the repeater from mortality.” The Gayatri Mantra is the Universal Prayer, which asks for a clear mind, such that the Truth can be reflected in it without distortion. If someone repeats the Gayatri Mantra, then various kinds of forces will manifest in him. Therefore, the Gayatri Mantra cannot be treated casually. Bhagavan recommends that we repeat the Gayatri Mantra: 1) before each meal 2) when we wake up 3) when we go to bed, besides, Bhagavan recommends chanting the Gayatri Mantra as often as possible. We have to chant "Shanti" three times after we have finished chanting the Gayatri Mantra, because it will give shanti, or peace of mind, to the three objects in us: body, mind and soul. The Gayatri Mantra is given to us as the Third Eye (Ajna Chakra) - to open our inner vision. By developing this vision, we can realize Brahman. Repeating the Gayatri mantra several times a day with a pure heart will protect us from harm everywhere - on the bus or car, on the train or plane, on the bazaar or on the road. Sai Baba recommends repeating the Gayatri Mantra at least 108 times (one small) every morning. It takes only 15 minutes. Sathya Sai Baba said: “The more you chant the Gayatri Mantra, the more benefit you will receive.” Those who repeat the Gayatri mantra as their sadhana can repeat 3 or, preferably, 5 small every morning and an equal or fewer small in the evening. The repetition of 10 small (2.5 hours) every Sunday morning and on holidays is not beyond the limits of what is possible for a stubborn sadhak (a spiritual seeker). Gayatri Prasrasharana consists in repeating 10 small every morning for 24 or 40 days without a break. Power of the Gayatri Mantra The Gayatri Mantra contains all three aspects, without which the worship of God is unthinkable: praise, meditation and prayer. The first nine words “Om-bhur-bhavah-suvaha-tat-savitur-jam-bhargo-devasya” refer to the attributes of the Divine. “Dhimahi” is an aspect of meditation. “Dhiyo yo na prakodayat” is a prayer to the Lord. This mantra is a prayer to God with a request to bestow all powers and talents. ....
