On the 8th of March it will be International Women's Day (IWD). African women are challenging previously held stereotypes and making strides on the continent in various fields and career paths. We take a look at 3 women who have made a mark in the business, STEM, and art fields challenging stereotypes along the way. Sara Dahir, an Illustrator, that depicts black woman in her art work. @nawaal_illustrations Tinyiko Simbine, the cofounder and chief financial officer of GirlCode, a nonprofit, South African network of free, volunteer-led weekend coding camps designed for girls in high school. @girlcode_za or visit their website girlcode.co.za Francesca Uriri, is the founder of Leading Ladies Africa, a non-profit organisation focusing on providing skills to African women necessary for their success and promoting gender inclusion. In 2018 she was appointed as the Head of Communications in West Africa for Uber. She is formerly Uber's Internal Communications Lead For People, Culture And Diversity In San Francisco.
