My name is Xanthe Wyse. My main diagnoses are bipolar 1 disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) which are currently managed so less obvious. Recently assessed by a psychiatrist and also diagnosed pervasive developmental disorder, not otherwise specified (PDD-NOS) under DSM-IV yet below threshold for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) under DSM-V (New Zealand uses both). My son was diagnosed as a child with Asperger's. Most people who meet criteria for Aspergers will also meet criteria for ASD. Regardless, both my son and I are considered by clinicans to be 'on the autism spectrum' but neither of us call ourselves 'autistic' (although I used to call myself Aspie, autistic). Recent videos, I compared some traits between me and my son, which may or may not be relevant. Thought of some more things. Note this is not diagnostic criteria but rather some things I thought were relevant, about our similarities and differences. My camera split the recording, so I will attach the rest of the recording as part 2 Some things in this video include: pain, honesty, sensory, executive functioning, special interests, meltdowns, shutdowns
