This video of the TEAM ESMOL, by students Lee Dillen and Vermaercke Joren, and teacher Mr. Willem Haeck, from the European School of Mol, in Belgium, is a finalist of the European Nuclear Education Network competition for secondary school children. COMPETITION FINAL The final will be held in the Summer Camp organised by the BME, Budapest University of Technology and Economics, in Budapest, in 1-5 July 2019. The Summer Camp will provide a scientific friendly and stimulating environment with activities, few lectures, and social activities in the university and the city. The European Nuclear Education Network will provide economical support to the travelling and accommodation expenses of the participants. PARTICIPANTS The competition is open to secondary school pupils, who are currently enrolled in secondary schools in European States. Teams must have two pupil members and one teacher. TASKS AND TOPICS The participation in the competition required from the participants to compose a 3-minute video on one or more of the four nuclear disciplines: Nuclear reactor engineering and safety, Waste management and geological disposal, Radiation protection and Medical applications. Suggestions for projects include, but not limited to: Jobs in nuclear Create a story about nuclear History of nuclear science and technology Future of nuclear technology Nuclear in daily life Radiation for health This activity is part of the ENEN PLUS project which receives funding from the EURATOM Research and Training programme H2020, under grant agreement N° 755576.
