Don't fear as I've got your back! Find out all about roller brake lubrication in this informative video. Shimano recommends injecting around 5 grams of the Shimano roller brake grease, but this is tricky because there's no way to weigh the amount of grease squeezed from the grease tube. Luckily there's a way to correctly lubricate your brake. I do it with a 10ml syringe. Knowing that 1ml of grease equals around 0.9g you need to insert between 5 and 6ml of grease into the syringe. This way you will inject the correct amount of grease into your roller brake. Shimano suggests using approximately 5 grams of their roller brake grease, but accurately measuring this can be challenging when squeezing it from the tube. Fortunately, there's a practical method for ensuring proper brake lubrication. I prefer using a 10ml syringe for precision. Since 1 ml of grease is roughly equal to 0.9g, you'll want to load the syringe with approximately 5 to 6 ml of grease. This ensures that you inject the correct amount of grease into your roller brake for optimal performance.
