A small tintype is the only reminder of A Boston Marriage@jungatheart.com. Its story in its entirety only came to light with the help of a 21st century camera phone that could capture the details in a picture that took 5 minutes to 'take' originally. Here it is the story of two 16-year-old Harvard Students.The term is most often used for two women but there were relationships between two men. The video reveals their love for one another. Clues are found in the way that they stage the photograph. A Social Archaeologist "reads' the details thanks to a modern cellphone's digital enlargements. They arrange their coats, hats and gloves to imitate a sitting gentleman and standing lady customary for photo portraits. A pair of gloves suggests a gentleman holding a lady's hand to kiss it! The Contrast between the two is remarkable. One is from a very old Boston family whose first members came on a Winthrop Ship in the 1630's and have always been in the China Trade making them much money. They are traditional and his suit, though new, reflects an old-fashioned design. Every generation goes to Harvard as a 'finishing school' for their young men. The other is studying Chemistry in preparation to become a third generation paper maker. He is the first in his family to attend Harvard. He is dressed as an upper middle class young man in 1898 whose father is a professional.
