Telluride Colorado Backcountry Skiing - The Scariest Line in Colorado

S9 Peak. North Face. Colorado had an historic winter season in 2019 which offered some rare ski and snowboard descents. Two days after I returned from a 21 day river expedition through the Grand Canyon, Lorne Glick and I nabbed this especially wild line mid-March in the San Juan Mountains. Lorne smoked me to the top as I pushed myself up the face with weak river rafting legs and bottom of the Canyon lungs. When I got there he told me "This is gonna be the wildest line I've ever skied." I told him I wished he would've waited to tell me that until we were down. This line has probably seen about 3 other descents all time as it usually looks like a rock climb.
