There was only one reason and that was for world peace. Because we can never build world peace by spreading nuclear weapons. In Tehran or in Iran... when we look at those who speak about there being a nuclear weapon in Iran or those who do not want there to be nuclear weapons in Iran, they all have weapons, they all have nuclear weapons. But us.... Brazil put it in its constitution, they say no. We(Turkey) don't have such a problem, such anxiety. We also don't want nuclear weapons in our region, we don't want such a thing. Those people who speak about this issue (nuclear weapons in Iran), let them get rid of nuclear weapons from their countries so that they can give positive news for humanity's peace." ++includes upsound of audience clapping++ 11. Wide of forum STORYLINE The United Nations Alliance of Civilisations Forum opened in Rio de Janeiro on Friday, bringing together dozens of leaders from around the globe. During the opening ceremony, Turkey's leader said that nations criticising an Iranian nuclear fuel swap deal brokered by Brazil and Turkey should eliminate their own nuclear weapon stockpiles as a show of good faith. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan made the comments just hours after he said the West was "envious" of the diplomatic coup Brazil and Turkey scored in getting the Iranian regime to agree to the deal, which US officials say is a ploy for Iran to delay new international sanctions against it. Erdogan claimed that Turkey and Brazil only had one intention on their trip to Tehran and that was to help world peace. However, Iran is believed to have much more nuclear material stockpiled now.
