A ragam that effortlessly embodies both the Carnatic and Hindustani styles of Indian classical music. It's difficult to tell the two styles apart when you sing the raga alapana of Hamsadhwani. The legendary Kishori Amonkar is my inspiration for this alapana. When I was first introduced to her style I sat mesmerized, unable to think coherently, for a few minutes.
